Text description provided by the architects. This new house for Australian swim couple Luke and Libby Trickett explores a ‘Y’-shaped plan and a ‘chiseled’ expression of architecture in what is an otherwise efficient and economical construction, built in inner-city Brisbane and enjoying views to the Gateway Bridge.
The material palette is a restrained combination of recycled tallow wood, travertine stone and black cladding which reinforces the building’s emphasis on form over minute detail.
A manipulated landscape has been created to connect the house back to the ground plain and provide a great outdoor experience for a future family.
